Bacon 'n' Cheese Bites

Want something to make ahead and keep in the freezer for last-minute drop-in guests? Here you go! These Bacon 'n' Cheese Bites are a guy food favorite, especially when the big game is on. Watch out though - you may need to make a second batch because the first one is sure to disappear!

What You'll Need:
  • 1 cup biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 cup processed cheese spread
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) finely shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons real bacon bits
  • 1/3 cup club soda
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Coat two rimmed baking sheets with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat all ingredients except club soda until well mixed.
  3. Add club soda and beat until well combined. Let stand 5 minutes.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto baking sheets. Bake 7 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Serve immediately.

Replace the club soda with beer. It'll give these even richer flavor.

I served just the bacon bites plain, but what kind of sauce could you serve with them that would not be serving more cheese. What I'm trying to say is a noncheese sauce to make or buy to put on as a toping or serve as a dip. Don't want more cheese!!!

i'd use bar bq sauce ranch many ideas.....

If you like try the spinach balls made with Bisquick. You'll love them.

You almost have to use "cheese whiz" for these to turn out right. They are great!!!

How are they frozen and reheated?

I was wondering the same thing. Are they cooked before freezing? How long will the mixture last in the fridge without cooking them? How long will they last in the freezer?

Yes they are cooked, then frozen. Just thaw and reheat on a lower temp. of 325 degrees for about 8-10 minutes.

It is great when you need a cheese product that melts smoothly. I would definitely not substitute a full quantity of real cheese in this recipe. The texture would be wrong.

Holy Moly !!!! Mr.Food, you have cost me alot of money. LOL signed in a couple months ago because I didn't get the ingredients for one of your daily shows......and the rest is history. Lots of printer ink and paper later, plus needed ingredients for lots of yummy dishes. I so enjoy your site, have gotten so many great and tasty dishes. Sounds awesome except I don't eat processed cheese spread...Could I substitute an equal amount of real cheese?

I would personally not substutue. There is a great deal of oil in real cheese that would affect the texture of these. Essentially you are just making kind of a "cheese pastry". Processed cheese spread will provide the necessary smooth creaminess.

If you hold your cursor down and will turn only what you want to print blue and then choose selection and apply..............than hit print.

When you want to print only the page you desire, scroll to that page & select "current page" in the printer menu.

on the half cup processed cheese , is that the kind that comes in the box. I just love yall!!!!! Thanks!!!

If one is supposed to serve immediately, what's it doing under "make ahead for freezer"?

was thinking the same thing. Do you bake and freeze or freeze then bake when ready to serve ?

actually either way could work.serve now or do as i would do.serve some now and save some in freezer for late

"Make ahead" not "bake ahead"? I bet these are tasty!!

This could easily be changed to pizza bites by substituting pepperoni and mozzerella cheese.

Try using print preview and only print the pages you want, this what I do.

this is more of a question than a comment. I would like to know how to print these recipes without wasting a sheet of paper each time as it printsthis special offer from ladies home journal before printing recipe. this is exasperating as well as wastint paper and printer ink thank you in advance for your assistance and expertise.

when you hit printer and your printer comes up only print first sheet not all. it works

i have and found helpful, to open your "notepad" or words.copy recipe part you wish to print. and paste to open page on notepad(what i use as it is easier to open etc) or word and print.maybe word pad but an sure on your computer.
