Festive Cranberry-Cream Cheese Spread

(1 Votes)
5 Min

This appetizer is just the thing to bring out when unexpected guests drop by. Chances are you'll have cream cheese and pecans on hand. So stock up on the fruit mixture and you're ready for anyone- and don't forget the crackers.

What You'll Need:
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 (12-ounce) container cranberry-raspberry crushed fruit for chicken
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
What To Do:
  1. Place cream cheese on a serving plate. Combine crushed fruit and, if desired, amaretto; spoon over cream cheese.

  2. Spread pecans in a pie plate; microwave uncovered, at HIGH 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring once. Sprinkle pecans over crushed fruit mixture. Serve immediately with crackers.

Let pecans cool before adding to the cheese. They'll be crunchier!

I have made this for years, usually with a scoop of orange marmalade, or apricot preserves, no nuts, then we spread on leftover rolls piled with turkey. It is a great way to use up leftovers, my kids don't eat cranberry sauce, but love this spread!

Yes, the brand name is Ocean Spray, and you usually will find it in the aisle with the stuffing mixes.

I'm with "fivefoot2"...where the heck do you *find* that fruit?

I've never heard of or seen "cranberry-raspberry crushed fruit for chicken" what is that? is there a brand name I can look for?
