What You'll Need:
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans refried beans
  • 1 (8-ounce) container prepared guacamole
  • 3 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, chopped

  • 1 (2.25-ounce) can sliced black olives, drained
  • 1 cup sour cream
What To Do:
  1. Spread refried beans over a 12-inch round serving platter then spread guacamole over beans.
  2. Sprinkle lettuce, tomato and cheese around bean mixture. Sprinkle olives around guacamole.

So do you suggest adding lemon or lime juice to the guac to keep it from turning brown as you prepare it and before it is served? Saran wrap on top to stop the oxidation would ruin the decoration.

If you are preparing it ahead of time do everything but the sour cream and cover it in plastic wrap. I do this with anything decorative like this so that I don't have to worry about decoration surviving transportation. Also, I mix lime juice directly into my guac and mostly avoid this issue from the start.. hope this helps

The recipe calls for "prepared" guacamole, which has lime juice already added. This adds flavor but also helps it to not turn dark when serving. You shouldn't add any more lemon or lime juice or it will change the taste and consistency and isn't needed.
