This is a new and exciting way to prepare an old favorite and still take advantage of grilling outside. (And no heating up the kitchen in warm weather!)

Serves: 6

Cooking Time: 35 min

What You'll Need:
  • 1/4 cup ketchup or chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple-flavored syrup or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons instant minced onions
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
What To Do:
  1. In a small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients: ketchup or chili sauce, maple-flavored syrup or brown sugar, vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all remaining ingredients; mix well.

  3. On a double thickness of heavy-duty aluminum foil, shape mixture into a loaf. Fold sides of foil up to form a "pan." Brush glaze over meat loaf.

  4. Place meat loaf, in its foil pan, on grill over medium-hot coals. Cover with hood of grill or aluminum foil tent.

  5. Cook 30 to 40 minutes, brushing occasionally with glaze, until no pink remains in center of loaf.
