COOK TIME

Stroganoff sounds fancy but, by using prepared meatballs, we don't have to save it for company anymore, 'cause it cooks up tasty...and fast!

What You'll Need:
  • 2 (10-3/4-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (32-ounce) package frozen meatballs, thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (16-ounce) package egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
What To Do:
  1. In a soup pot, combine soup, mushrooms, and milk; cook over medium heat until hot.

  2. Reduce heat to low, stir in meatballs, and continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes.

  3. Stir in sour cream and cook 3 to 5 minutes, or until mixture is heated through. Serve over warm cooked egg noodles.

Wow. This is really good! I, too, browned my meatballs first in a little olive oil, then added them into the soup/milk mix and cooked fora bout 7 minutes before adding in the sour cream. Crazy easy and tastes very good! If I could give it 4.5 stars rather than 4, I would, only because it tasted liked it needed just a little more "something" in terms of seasoning to give it a more robust, complex flavor. Someone with decent cooking experience (NOT me, LOL) would probably know just what seasonings to add. If that's you, please add in your findings because I'd love to try them in the future.

can I use milk instead of sour cream, I'm new at this

I have made this for about 40 years minus the sourcream, we call it 'mushroom meatballs'. I use homemade meatballs, though.

I LIKE IT AND IT WAS SO GOOD

Making this for years, under the name of 'mushroom meatballs'. It is a good weekday quickie!

This is a really good recipe. Not only did I like it, but my sons loved it! This is a definetly a thumbs up! Thank you for sharing it.

dvance102451 February 2, 2012 I made this for dinner and my family raved over it. I browned my meatballs and sauted the mushrooms in butter. I will keep this receipe. thank you

I thought this was so good for a quick meal-leftovers were good too!

Excellent meal, but I still prefer to make my own meatballs, if not in a hurry.
