Add oniony flavor and texture to turn plain burgers into Souper Burgers. This tried and true hamburger recipe that uses onion soup mix is still an easy dinner idea.

What You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 (1-ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted

What to Do

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the buns; mix well. Form into 6 equal-sized patties.

  3. Grill patties 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until juices run clear and no pink remains. Serve on buns.

Notes

Why not give these "souper" burgers a zip by topping with chili sauce? And, you know, if you don't have the time, or it's the wrong weather for grilling outdoors, you can use a grill pan to give your burgers a similar look and flavor.

I love these! My mother used to make when I was a kid and 30+ years later I make them on occasion for my family. Much better than the pain burger!

Try using fresh onions. We don't need these soup mixes which are high in sodium.
