We gave your favorite easy cinnamon roll recipe a whole new fall taste by adding in a couple of fresh apples. Our Apple Cinnamon Rolls make are such a treat, especially when alongside a glass of warm apple cider.

What You'll Need:
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or any other firm, tart apple), peeled, cored, and each cut into 8 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup orange juice or water
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar together; set aside.

  2. Unroll crescent roll dough; separate into 8 triangles. Cut each in half lengthwise to make 16 triangular strips. Place an apple wedge on wide end of each strip; roll up.

  3. Arrange rolls in a 9- x13-inch baking dish or rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Pour orange juice or water into baking dish, but not over rolls.

  4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until rolls are golden brown and apple wedges are tender.

I made these for my nightly dog walking group and they were a big hit. None left! I also left out the orange juice as others said. Will definitely make these again.

since some who have tried this with orange juice and say it's soggy can you half the 1/4 cup of orange juice to work as the full 1/4 cup.

by listening to video do you splash orange juice once made rolls. also can you substitute splenda for sugar

Hi there! In this recipe, you do not splash the orange juice over the rolls; pour the orange juice into the bottom of the pan. While the Test Kitchen has not made this recipe using Splenda, we do believe that it is an acceptable substitute. Enjoy!

I made these yesterday. Recipe did not call for a greased/sprayed baking sheet. The bottom of the baking sheet was burned black and the rolls were difficult to remove. Was it the orange juice?? The taste of the rolls was just so-so. Sorry to say I will not make again.

Hello - We're sorry to hear that these did not work for you. We are re-testing the recipe this week to see if there's anything we can do to improve it. Thank you for your comment!

So good! I rolled my apple slices in sugar cinnamon before wrapping them the dough and then sprinkled more on top.

These are really good! We enjoyed every last one!!

These are perfect for kids! Is the nutritional info available? I have a granddaughter with diet restrictions who is only four years old. I try not to make fun foods that she cannot have. Thank you.

Hi there! We are currently in the process of adding nutritional information to all of our recipes. Meanwhile, if you would like recipes with nutritional information provided, we recommend checking out our other website. You can visit www.everydaydiabeticrecipes.com to see them. Enjoy!

These are terrific...quick, simple, easy. If the apple is really tart, I sprinkle the inside of the dough with cin/sugar, as well as the outside. I tried the liquid in the bottom, but they ended up soggy, so I just brush some butter or oil on the bottom of the pan.

really good. I also rolled the apples in the cinnamon sugar first and then sprinkled it on. did not use the orange juice. is there an easy way to separate the triangles of dough from the roll that comes out of the can? my dough always ends up ragged and stretched out.

Hi there! It always helps to keep the dough refrigerated until you're ready to use it. Cold dough will hold up better than warm dough, so it should make it slightly easier to separate. We hope this helps!

I MADE THESE ON 10/11/16 FOR A PARTY..OH MY..THERE AWSOME...FOR A QUICK APPLE PIE BITE...ONLY THING IS AFTER ,FIRST BATCHED I USED PARCHMENT PAPER...IT WORKED WONDERFULL...MY HUSBAND WENT BACK TO STORE TO GET ME MORE CRESENTS..BUT HE GOT BUTTER ..SO I DIDNT USE BUTTER..AND WORKED OUT FINE..NOT TOOO SURE ABOUT THE ORANGE JUICE DEAL THO...OTHER WISE...THIESE WILL BE MADE ALOT....THANKS

This recipe is very good. I think next time I will roll the apples in the cinnamon sugar mix. It wasn't sweet enough for me. My only comment is that the time allotted to cook them is too long. Mine were done in 20 minutes.

These are great. I cut the apples thinner and I added craisens and chopped walnuts to the roll-up. Worked better to roll the crescent rolls in the cinnamon sugar mix (instead of sprinkling it on) after I brushed each roll with melted butter.

Sounds sooooo good. I think i'll change it a little and brush the melted butter on and then just roll the Crescent rolls in the sugar/cinnamon mix instead of sprinkling it over.

Can this be made ahead of time / night before or does it need to be made just before serving? thanks !

I have just recently discovered the magic of crescent rolls and this one sounds great. Going to make it Saturday.

Excellent recipe. My grandma used to make these and I've been looking for a recipe just like this ever since my childhood. Thanks you guys. Amazing

My family loved these.

I think this one is a five star winner. We do breakfast at church every first sunday in the month. This will be my treat to take next sunday. Great idea.

Great recipe and super easy.

couldn't get any easier than this! great idea for fall. Can use at any occasion. I know what's for dessert tonight! :) Lots of healthy ingredients without a lot of sugar!
