COOK TIME
20 Min

Our easy from-scratch recipe for classic cornbread muffins is one you'll make time and again. Old Time Corn Bread Muffins can be out of your oven and on your table quickly, but they'll taste like they came from a bakery.

What You'll Need:
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.  Coat a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Spoon batter into muffin cups.

  3. Bake muffins 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm.

Note
  • Stir a bit of honey into some whipped butter to make a special old-fashioned country spread for serving with these muffins.

great recipe easy and simple!

Authentic Southern cornbread does not include sugar.

will try

IN THIS RECIPE IS THAT ONE AND A HALF CUPS MILK OR ONE/HALF CUPS MILK...WANT TO TRY THESE MUST BE HAVING A SENIOR MOMENT.. jlhudson09@mail.com

It is ONE AND A HALF CUPS MILK

It'd be better if you used buttermilk. Danielle 1995 just wanted to see her fake name in print.

Tried this and it is delish. Don't know what is so wrong with this. must be just wants to make nasty comments.

I have used this recipe many years for making corn bread and it is always a hit.

This recipe was so gross, horrible & a waste of ingredients, it was good at all & I wouldn't reccommend this recipe to any 1

Other than gross and horrible, could you specify what makes it so? Appears to be a pretty standard recipe for cornbread, so wherein does the problem lie?

Husky Roasted Corn

Native Americans cooked their corn right in the husks over an open fire, and we think their idea is still best, 'cause it helps bring out flavors you can only get from roasting. We love making our Husky Roasted Corn right on the grill in the summer, and in our ovens when it's cooler out!
