Gigantic Chocolate Cookies

This has to be one of our most-requested and best-loved cookies ever! These cookies are big, puffy and very chocolaty. We warn you: These can be addictive and should never be consumed without a big glass of cold milk!

What You'll Need:
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) semisweet baking chocolate, divided
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
What To Do:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coarsely chop 1 package of the chocolate; set aside.
     
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, break up the remaining package of chocolate and microwave on high power for 1 to 2 minutes; stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Add the brown sugar, flour, baking powder, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla; stir until well combined then stir in the nuts and the reserved chopped chocolate.
     
  3. Drop the batter by 1/4-cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are puffed and the tops are dry. Cool slightly on the baking sheets then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Serve, or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
