Apple Pie Toast

You're thinking this sounds odd, aren't you? Trust us, the combination of cinnamon toast with apples and Cheddar cheese is a great one. You'll see why this Apple Pie Toast is an all-American favorite!

What You'll Need:
  • 6 slices cinnamon raisin bread
  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling, drained
  • 6 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
What To Do:
  1. Preheat broiler. Place bread on a baking sheet and lightly toast under broiler.
     
  2. Top each bread slice with equal amounts of apple pie filling; place a cheese slice on top of each.
     
  3. Broil 2 to 3 minutes, or until filling is heated through and cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

There is nothing better than melted Cheddar Cheese on Apple Pie! A slice of Cheddar on Apple pie for a few seconds in the microwave!. Yummmmmm!

i have had it is so good!

For speed the apple pie mix is okay, but why not eliminate lots of the sugar and just microwave some apples of our choosing and just a little brown sugar, there will be plenty of liquid from the apples and then select the cheese of your choice,Tillamook would be my choice....yum...oh AND if you do NOT happen to have raisin cinnamon bread......DUH....a piece of toasted THEN buttered whole wheat toast as base...with cinamon and raisins mixed in with the apples as they "cook"......then assemble and ENJOY!!

Thre is no way you can "drain" apple pie filling. Its not in liquid. So I wouldn't attempt to do that step! :)

This sounds good, but I can't handle the sweetness of the canned apple pie filling. Instead, I'm going to try Mr. Food's recipe for warm cinnamon apples to spread on top. Not real crazy about cheese with apples, but I'm going to try it anyway. I"m thinking of a nice Splenda brown sugar mix with oatmeal & chopped walnuts! (the apple recipe is using Splenda, also.)

My father always used to say: A piece of apple pie without some cheese is like kissing a girl without at squeeze! (My Dad was a bit 'hokey' in that way. Still...it was very common around our parts, more so when I was very young and has now faded off. It's an acquired taste and once you have it, you will start to crave it!...:):)...just sayin'. I'm sure it will be delicious!

They have banana or strawberry swirl bread and it is great with other fruit. Cherry, berry or whatever happens to be your favorite. we us this for dessert--and all the kids love it--both big and little

i think if you are diabetic, as i am, you can monkey with this using splenda and regular bread, white or wheat making your own toast and still enjoy!! a shame raisins are full of sugar, i love them!!!.
