Love it instead of using the crushed pineapple I use the pineapple chunks drained and I dont add the nuts !

I have been making this for years, minus the nuts. My Aunt used to make it, but she got a can of dark, sweet cherries and cooked it, thickening it with cornstarch. It was also delicious that way. AND--if you freeze it, it tastes like cherry ice cream!

Made this for years, everyone loves it!

This sound wonderful and can't wait to try it. Just wondering, why can't I find it in the Misc-Desserts area.

I have made this desert for many years it is so creamy and crunchy at the same time. The desert tastes better after it sets over night in the refrigerator. I have also made one that has strawberry pie filling with the same ingredients as the cherry. If you are a strawberry lover like me you will really enjoy it . I serve these deserts at Thanksgiving and Christmas, i serve one kind at different holidays. My family always look forward to these deserts. Always use the best ingredients.

Oreo crumb crust, broken oreos on top. Yum!

I add mandarin oranges to this.

looks great!

LOOKS GOOD

This has been a holiday tradition for my family for over a decade. If you havent tried it before you need to give it a try. Good "stuff"!! ;o)

I love this recipe and make it often! My 15 month old grandson loves it too. I add graham cracker crumbs with melted butter stirred together like I was making a crust. Except I just mix it in. I also double the cherry pie filling, pineapple also use the largest cool whip available. delicious!!!

Could one use strawberry pie filling to make the same recipe?

The Spartan stores make this ! My Mom has been trying to find the recipe for a long time. And she called it "That Cherry Stuff" ! lol ! She had the name & didn't even know it ! Thanks MF ! :* )

looks wonderful love your recipes

I added to this recipe some sheered sweetened coconut. It was very delicious.

I made this for two birthday celebrations and my guests raved how delicious it was....does anyone know if i can substitute blueberry pie filling for a boys baby shower, and if so what can a second fruit be... (strawberries and pineapple, blueberries and ???)need to make for this Saturday...

Sure you can try blueberries! I would say that you could probably still use pineapple with it, but it really depends on your taste! Sounds like a great option! Enjoy!

Bananas would be perfect! Blueberries and bananas always go great together!

My family and I love this stuff! I like to add toasted coconut in the stuff and sprinkled on top, yum!

I have made this many times for our church dinners, I add small marshmellows.

It does sound good...and so pretty...I can't wait to try it.

This is delicious I have made it before!

That sounds delicious! I will make it tomorrow(fursur)...:-D!

I make something like this and I always take a clean bowl home. The only difference is 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring. Cuts the sweet. Then it is frozen. Yummmmmmm

Mr. Food .......... this is another winner! I've had many request for the recipe and always bring home an empty bowl! I will be trying the "Pot of Gold" one next. Sooooo 'easy' and always delicious. Great for 'family' and 'company.' Have a great day and keep those "delicious recipes" coming!!! One of your 'fans,' sincerely, Sherry

This recipe is really great and easy to make. I fixed it last night for supper and it was a big hit. Even my son-in-law loved it and he is not much on any type of dessert.

prchrskd how do you make your own condensed milk?

THis is good, but when I got this recipe living in Arkansas we used pecans for the nuts and sliced banana as well,..chilling for 24 hours to allow the flavors to blend. yum, yum, Yummy! make your own condensed milk takes it up a notch better.

My husband loves this stuff. He just calls it "fluffy stuff" then smiles:)

I make this all the time love it. On a hot summer day this is good frozen. We made this for my folks 50th anniv. and frozen them as we were planning for about 200 people. When we put some out it was still frozen and people loved it.

I started making this 10 years ago, I also add 7 oz. shredded coconut and 2 sliced bananas...... mmmmmm GOOD!

We make something similar to this. Our recipe calls for 1/2 bag of mini marshmellows.

Do you add it to the recipe or replace something with it?

I have a neat software program called AccuChef that will calculate the nutritional facts for recipes. I think it cost about $20.00 but is well worth the cost as I have a 14 year old granddaughter that is Type I diabetic.

There is a site you can go to that cost nothing, It is "sparkspeople.com" I love this site you can put your own recipe in and it will calcuate everything. Plus you can keep track of everything fro food to water. Check it out.

awesome. I made this today for Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. I love it because it is not only so good, but so easy and quick to make. This will be in "my favorites" recipe file. You can refreeze left overs (if there's any left over).

to make it more interesting, sprinkle toasted (or plain) coconut on top of some of the individual servings and top other with a different topping such as crumbled graham crackers or nuts or any combination. for a festive look at Christmas, add a green maraschino cherry on top or a mint leaf in place of or in addition to the red cherry. You could also tie a thin ribbon around the base of the serving dish if it is footed.

I made this and put it into 2 graham cracker crusts and chilled for 2 hours before serving. It was a super fast and easy dessert and my guests thought I had spent alot of time preparing it. Everyone loved it. Thanks Mr. Food!! Kris

Love this -- I make it and add: Cottage Cheese Coconut Pecans low-fat sweet milk low-fat cool whip This makes it A LITTLE bit healthy with the cottage cheese. By using the low-fat items it also changes it a little. This is my favorite thing to bring to family gatherings, etc. and yes I call it the "Pink Stuff". God Bless and have a great day.

I have a 8 year old Granddaughter, she is type 1 diabetic. Is there a chance you could print the carbs per serving on your receips ? Thank You. Nancy Thompson. shaylee2@att.net
