Have you ever wondered how in the world they make those little croutons that are thrown on top of salads? It's so easy to do that you're sure to be making them from here on out! These homemade croutons are called Spiced Croutons because we've added a bit of a fall twist. The addition of apple pie spice makes these croutons the perfect complement to any of your favorite fall salads 'cause it's got that down-home flavor we know and love.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 (8-ounce) French bread loaf, cubed
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice

What to Do

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Coat bread cubes evenly with cooking spray. Place in a resealable plastic bag; add spice. Seal bag, and shake to coat. Arrange bread cubes on a baking sheet.
     
  2. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until browned. Cool.

Notes

Flavored with a apple pie spice, these croutons lend a nice crunch to warm autumn soups and winter fruit salads.
