Wow! Ground beef and broccoli never had it so good, 'cause in All in One Pierogi Skillet they're teamed with puffy, melt-in-your-mouth, everybody-loves-'em potato pierogis. Better make extra!

What You'll Need:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen broccoli florets, thawed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
What To Do:
  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat, and brown beef 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

  2. Add pierogi and cook 4 to 5 minutes, or until heated through.

  3. Stir in broccoli, salt, and pepper, then top with cheese.

  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until cheese melts and broccoli is warmed through.

Since no one likes to mix their broccoli - I made it without & I added garlic to the ground beef. Yummy Good. Broccoli as a side dish

Have you tried Cooks.com or Allrecipes.com; they are both good sites to locate hard to find and older recipes

Lorene 3127229672 April 12,2013 I just found this recipe to day ,And I'm going to the store to get pierogi , And I two didn't know what it was . Thank You ! We will be having this to night for dinner !!

used kalbasi instead of ground beef mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good!

Very simple and very good recipe.

Easy and Yummy. I did add Cavenders Greek Seasoning to the meat after I browned it, but other than that I followed the recipe. It was winner in my family. Those who didn't want broccoli just didn't put any on their plate. Definitely a comfort food. I ate mine with a dollop of sour cream on top! I will be making this recipe a lot!

This recipe is a big favorite of my family. This should have been on the list of the best recipes - delicious and inexpensive.

Try my Poorman's Perogi I posted. You may like it.

I like the pierogi recipe, will try it.

Call me a dummy but what is pierogi ? I have never heard of them. The recipe sounds good but dont knoe what to look for

A stuffed dough patty, just like making fresh dough, cut in circle shapes, put in mashed potato and cheese micture inside the circle dough, close the ends and either boil or fry the perogy. You can also buy variety of frozen perogies. They are very yummy

Think Polish ravioli. Also common in the Ukraine and Russia. There are several very good frozen varieties at your supermarket.

They are usually in the frozen food section and they are like a stuffed dough dumpling, with normally potatoes (mashed) and cheese.

can this be baked?

I always bake my perogis... I add ground beef onions and seasonings usually some kind of gravy and put the perogis in a baking pan frozen layer the other stuff in top with cheese and cover with foil... for about 1 hour on 350 they come out perfect every time...

I posted a Poorman's Pierogi recipe on the first recipe listed. Its baked. Try it.

This is an amazing dish! So easy to make and so tasty! I'm vegetarian, so I substituted the ground beef with Morningstar Crumbles (found in the frozen food isle). This will definitely be made again and again.

The way my mother made them and for many years as she was slovak descent is with mashed potato and cheddar cheese, butter and onion more cheese the better OOH SO GOOD!!!

sounds really good

I love potato pirogues, they are delish! We pan fry them in a little bit of pam spray with onions. As Mr. Food says, "mmm, it's so good!"

I make pierogis all the time, usually a couple hundred at a time , the only ones my husband likes are filled with cottage cheese,& served with cream or half & half,. will be trying this recipe soon,.

Isschmick Please give me reciepe for you filling. Also, how do you make 200 at a time. My wife and I are lucky to make 40 at one time. She rolls out the dough and I form into pillows and crimp.

what is potato pierogis

Please don't judge the recipe before you try it. This is GREAT!!!

PIEROGI is a polish version of a ravioli....u can fill them with potato, onion, or sauerkraut! Get them fresh in the meat section, or frozen in the freezer section!

Sounds absolutly srumptious. Cant wait to eat it tonight, got to Love it.

I thought this recipe was really good!! Not at all disgusting. I did add a little more salt and pepper and some chopped onion and garlic to the meat as it cooked. I think that you could easily change out the veggies. A little sour cream as garnish or added at the end (don't let it boil or it will curdle). Mushrooms could be added too. I like to play with a recipe, changing it a little each time until I get it the way I lke it. There were no leftovers to speak of with the original recipe (just enough to take in my lunch.

sounds like a winner.

You can buy frozen pierogis in any grocery store. They have potato and onion or potato and cheese.

What are PIEROGIS and where do I find them in the frozen food area?

@Robertapchef - I've found them in the frozen food isle by the french fries or by frozen pastas.

what is potato pierogis ? I have neverheard of it

I am going to try this idea of using the peirogis , but I'm going to change the recipe around a bit ( as I usually end up doing) . I'm thinking using frozen green beans or carrots and peas in place of the broccoli. I think a can of mushroom or cream of chicken soup with perhaps a half can of milk might help too . I will post the recipe here after I try it . Also some seasonings will be added .

My family actually enjoyed this meal. I didn't follow directions to a tee. I did not use the oil, I used lean beef right from the butcher, i used water in the bottom of the pan with beef browning, and used water when i put in the pierogis. Just a little, i let the water keep cooking away till the pierogis were hot, I did the same with the broccoli. Then when i was done with that, I strained the excess water, added salt and pepper to my tasting, which was more salt then recipe and about the same on the pepper. Topped with cheese, covered to melt, and woop woop, my kids liked it.

Mr. Food, do you actually TASTE some of these recipes? This combination is DISGUSTING, just reading it ! There is no seasoning nor sauce involved with the ground beef to marry it to the pierogi or broccoli. Sorry but throwing some cheddar on top at the end is NOT ENOUGH. Someone better go back to the drawing board

Do you realize you are about the only person who didn't like this?

For those who asked: Pierogies are little filled pockets of a noodle consistency type dough. Usually the pockets are boiled and then drained and smothered in sauteed onions. Pierogies are often filled with a combination of mashed potatoes and cheese although there are some filled with sauerkraut or other potato veggie combos. They are found in the frozen food compartments of you grocery store. Of course there are recipes for homemade pierogies too, but I'd not use them in a recipe like this one. I'd savor them as homemade with butter and onions.

what is potato pierogis?
