I have noticed that the receipts with noodles: egg noodles, elbow macaroni etc.. The one ingredient is spaghetti sauce. Can people be a little more creative then adding the same ingredients.

Good! However I substituted a 46 oz can of reg gold tomato juice for the water and spaghetti sauce and it was too thick and the bottom of the pot scorched. I ate it anyway but next time i will add more water and/or watch it more carefully on the stove.

Cannot wait to try this recipe. Looks so Yummy! Love all the ingredients. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks, jackie, Virginia Beach, Va.

This recipe turned out perfectly. I used Papperdelle pasta and it turned out great. Easy and delicious, a keeper..

Good as is except: cook noodles alone in a pot w/water, then add to the rest. Then simmer 'till heated thru, say 10 min. or bake for 35 min. at 350, with a cheese topping aded in the last 10-12 min. if you are going to do it as writen, you may as well go buy some hamburger helper. Yuck. Also the brown gravy and mushroom way sounds good if you add some sour cream.

The secret to flavor and proper consistency is NOT to precook the noodles and make this recipe as written adding the raw noodles and the water gives the whole dish much more flavor and the flavors are absorbed into the noodles as it cooks Lasagna tastes much better also using raw lasagna noodles and a cup of water around the edges of pan before baking let rest 15-20 minutes before cutting never watery or soupy and more flavor

Good as written. We added shredded 3 Italian cheese mix to the top as serving. Would also be good made with Italian sausage. Made more like 8 servings. Could easily be halved.

Half Pint 13: Doing it in the crock pot and esp. not adding the uncooked noodles---Bet you didn't use the whole 2 and a half cups of water called for! How much did you add, if any water at all?

doghousecp 5186226: sorry, I didn't use any water but I did add a can of whole peeled tomatoes and their juice, I used a 15oz can and just cut up the tomatoes. Hope it helps <3

bobandcarol43 6772202, I made it in the crock pot, i used ground chuck and added some garlic, I made the noodles when I got home from work, came out really good. I let it cook on low for 8 hrs, next time I'll make some garlic bread to go with it lol. Hope this helps you and thanks Mr Food for all the great recipes, you make this non chef look like she can cook <3
