If you've ever found yourself gazing into the window of an Italian bakery and dreaming about a freshly made cannoli, then you're sure going to get excited about our recipe for Bakery-Style Cannoli! With a homemade, creamy, ricotta filling this easy cannoli recipe tastes bakery-delicious!

What You'll Need:
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 cannoli shells
What To Do:
  1. In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, the ricotta cheese, and vanilla until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and cinnamon until thoroughly combined.

  2. Refrigerate 1 hour, or until mixture is firm. Spoon filling into cannoli shells (see Note).

  3. Refrigerate 1 hour, or until ready to serve. Just before serving, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Notes

For an easy way to fill the cannoli shells, place the ricotta cheese mixture in a resealable plastic bag. Snip off a corner of the bag with scissors and squeeze the mixture into the shells.

I'm new here don't understand the rating system - so many people rate a recipe they haven't even made - so not helpful!!

Your going to see a lot of that here. Wait for the ones that "tweak" recipes so much they've created something all together different.

Where can I get cannoli shells?

Hello, Many groceries carry the cannoli shells. They may be in the bakery section, freezer aisle, or with other Italian products. We recommend calling your local grocery store and asking them if they carry this product. You can also try a local Italian bakery or purchasing them online.

This recipe sounds delicious! Please print a recipe for homemade cannoli shells. I have the forms and would love to try this dessert, thanks!

Why no recipe for cannoli shells ......?

Can you substitute another ingredient for the ricotta cheese without messing with the integrity of the cannolis? My family just does not like ricotta cheese.

you could probably use mars-capon or cream cheese, you might need to add a little bit of milk to thin it out a little. I usually put the ricotta in the food processor and blend it till it is creamy, that way you don't have a chunky texture.

Going to try this have been wanting a recipe for cannolis. With the chocolate chips I am going add dried cherries chopped up.

I am going to try using the filling in the Cookie Cups recipe from this website!

I ADD WHIP CREAM TO FILLING ITS BETTER THAT WAY!!

How much Whip Cream do you add? Thank you.

In place of shells, I use broken ice cream waffle cones or the hard cones and use it as a dip. Enjoy it this way in place of the shell.

You have to buy them from the grocery store.

where specifically do you find them?
