I have only tried making a sugar pie once in my life. It wasnt a sugar cream pie. Normally I am a good cook, but on this I failed miserably. My pie was so hard that no one could eat it. This recipe looks like it will turn out much better. Maybe I will give it a try. Wish me luck!

I have never had sugar cream pie before, but I usually love cream pies. Based on the ingredients this seems like an easy dessert to throw together. Also, it seems like it would be inexpensive. I would like to test this and see how it turns out.

The taste of my child hood, Takes me back to Grandma's kitchen when she made the Best sugar cream pie. Then my Mom would start making it, MMMMMMMMM Sooooo Good !!!

Well, the name says it all--SUGAR cream pie! This is a wonderful dessert for summer picnics, graduation parties, Father's Day. It has simple ingredients and has simple steps so that I can make it without hesitation. I think I will "healthy it up" and serve strawberries or raspberries on the side.

Made this with 1 cup splenda 1 t cinnamon 1/4 t nutmeg 2 Tbls melted butter .1 can Carnation evaporated milk and 1 can water 1/2 cup flour just a pinch of salt whisked and poured into pie shell came out really good. I read somewhere you can also melt 2 TBls butter pour over baked pie and slip n broiler for a couple minutes and top comes out beautiful So will do that next tiime

Is this just a different way to make the sugar cream pie?

Did you bake it for 40 - 45 minutes in 375

I need to watch my sugar intake, so I'm going to substitute Splenda for the sugar, too. Splenda is supposed to be a baking substitute for sugar, so it should work.
