Bag 'n' Bake is a potato recipe that'll have the kids begging to help you. This easy side dish recipe is fun and yummy, too!

What You'll Need:
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, cut into ¼-inch slices (see Note)
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. In a plastic food storage bag, combine salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.

  3. Place oil in a shallow bowl and dip potato slices in oil. Place coated potato slices in bag, close tightly, and shake to completely coat potatoes. Place potato slices on prepared baking sheet.

  4. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Note

If you usually use white-skinned potatoes, try this with red-skinned potatoes for a change.

Wonderful but I tried a few shortcuts. MW potatoes about 10 minutes then quartered. Sprayed with olive oil and sprinkled spice on. Easy and no cleanup. Can't beat that.

This was very good!! My husband loved it. I did use olive oil.

I make a low-fat version of these by omitting the "dipping in oil" and spray them with veggie oil spray first, then bag them and put them on the baking sheet to bake.

You also could use a healthy oil like olive oil.
