When it comes to jams, jellies, and preserves like our Blue Ribbon Preserves, the folks in the South really know how to win cooking prizes!

Cooking Time: 20 min

Ingredients
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, washed, hulled, and quartered
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 to 12 minutes, or until strawberries have cooked down and mixture has thickened, stirring frequently.

  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Makes about 3 cups preserves.

Notes

If you start with really sweet strawberries, you can decrease the amount of sugar to between 2 and 2 1/2 cups, if you want.

OOH ITS SO GOOD!
