Homemade Horseradish

Makes: 2 Cups

Cooking Time: 15 min

What You'll Need:
  • 1 to 1-1/4 pounds horseradish root, peeled and grated (about 2 cups)
  • 1 1/4 cups white vinegar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
What To Do:
  1. Place the grated horseradish in a medium-sized bowl and add the vinegar, salt, and sugar; mix well.
     
  2. Place in an airtight glass container, cover, and chill until ready to use.
Notes

Horseradish shouldn't come in contact with plastic, metal, or wood for an extended period of time. And while it packs a punch when it's first grated, it loses intensity quickly if left uncovered.
