I just add 1 garlic and 2 chopped jalapeno papers and it was great

This will make it better 2 lbs lean ground beef 4 tsp chili powder 2 tsp crushed red pepper 2 tsp black pepper 2 tsp minced onion 1/4 tsp cumin 24 oz tomato sauce Place in slow cooker and mash with potato masher til it's all ground up ( do this while it's cooking) 4-6 hours, done

I have used this same recipe for years except I use ketchup in place of tomato sauce.

Thought this was very good. Not as good as Michigan sauce from NY, but yum just the same! Did pick the spice up a notch, as we like our food a bit spicy. Thanks!

Can't believe Imshynomore mentioned Michigan sauce!! I've been trying to duplicate Clair and Carl's or Nitzi's Michigan sauce for years. Guess I'll have to try this recipe.

Can this be done w/ ground turkey? instead of Beef? and Thanks for this idea!!

Sure you can! Great idea to make this recipe lighter, enjoy!

Don't know what canwetalk did but I followed the recipe and it tasted jous like "Charlies Hot Dogs from Troy, NY. I survived on these during my college days.

Something is wrong with this recipe. As is, it taste like I just put a can of tomato paste on my hot dog.

I know what you mean, but just increase the Cumin, Worstershire Sauce, and Chilli Powder a bit. Also, use VERY STRONG black coffee instead of just plain water. I added a couple of crushed garlic cloves to it and it was terrific! You can also add a tsp. of brown sugar if you wish. I used ground turkey meat in this dish and it came out deliciously. A little bit of fresh parsley wouldn't hurt.

this coleslaw recipe is great also a little yellomustard added is very good.

Sounds GREAT! Can't wait to try it!
