Blue Cheese Dressing

(2 Votes)

Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing runs rings around bottled. With this dressing being so easy to whirl together, it's a natural for drizzling on salads, tossing with pasta, or even adding tasty excitement to burgers.

What You'll Need:
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 4 ounces blue cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
What To Do:
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until well mixed and consistency is still chunky. Use immediately or store, covered, in the refrigerator.

Makes 2 cups dressing.

I recently learned that I am allergic to onions, and so I have embarked on an adventure of home cooking where I can control the ingredients--starting with salad dressings. This is very tasty! I think I overblended the dressing in my Vitamix (VERY powerful blender). Next time I will stir in the blue cheese (I used Gorgonzola) after blending the other ingredients. I am wondering if "4 oz blue cheese" is the same as 1/2 cup. Also wondering how long this dressing will keep in the fridge.

i called the station & got the info i needed, the lady was very helpful, thank you very much.i wanted the recipe for blue cheese dressing.love the recipes mr food has each day.
