Crisscross Ham and Cheese Sandwich

This Crisscross Ham and Cheese Sandwich makes an easy springtime lunch! If have leftover Easter ham, this is a fantastic way to make a quick and tasty meal. Serve with strawberry jam for a sweet dipping side!
What You'll Need
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1 slice cheese, American, Cheddar or Swiss
- 2 slices, soft whole wheat bread
- 4 slices, deli ham
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- strawberry jam, if desired
What to Do
- Heat sandwich press.
- Spread butter on 1 side of each slice bread. Lay bread, butter-side-down, on clean surface.
- Spread 1 slice with mustard. Top with ham, cheese and remaining slice bread, butter-side-up.
- Cook in waffle iron 4 to 6 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Serve with strawberry jam for dipping or spreading.
