Topless Sloppy Joes

Cooking Time: 25 min

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 hamburger buns, split
Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook turkey until browned, stirring to break up meat.
     
  2. Add onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic, and saute 5 minutes, stirring often.
     
  3. Mix in remaining ingredients except buns and cook over medium heat 10 minutes, or until thickened.  Serve open-face-style over bun halves.
