Our Country Mac 'n' Cheese is so easy to make, you might actually feel guilty about it. Your slow cooker will do all the work while you sit back and relax. Cooking doesn't get much easier than that!

What You'll Need:
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon instant minced onion
  • 1 (10-3/4-ounce) can Cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8-ounce) package pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed
  • 1 (16-ounce) package elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed cooked ham (optional)
  • 1/4 cup French-fried onions
What To Do:
  1. Coat a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.

  2. In prepared slow cooker, combine all ingredients except French-fried onions, mix well.

  3. Cover and cook on LOW setting 2 to 2-1/2 hours, or until tender . Let stand 10 minutes; stir before serving. Top with French-fried onions.

This is a little salty

Why don't you tell us the health contents of recipes. I would especially like to know how much sodium, etc. is in this recipe.

Just by reading the ingredients, I can tell there is way too much sodium. Especially for those on a salt restricted diet. Of course it is divided among 6 servings, but still too much salt. That being said, I bet it still tastes delicious! :)

I made due with what I had in my kitchen. I used 8 oz cream cheese penne noodles 5 blend Italian cheese and cubed Colby jack . I added a bit more milk and a lil butter. making fajitas tonight and my 2 year old granddaughter will enjoy this easy recipe

Definitely sounds cheesy. My usual recipe uses 8 oz. of cheese for 8 oz. of macaroni and this recipe calls for 10 oz plus 4 oz of Velveeta and in case that wasn't enough a can of cheese soup!

Oops! I mean 8 oz. of Velveeta. Even more!

starting with uncooked pasta may be why more cheese is used, but my recipe I use at least 3-4 cheeses, so the amount of cheese here doesn't surprise me...I am going to try this with the cheeses I use when I make it.

Incredible - and So-o-o Easy!!! Thank you - you just made my busy life easier. I made a few alterations - I carmelized the onions, some minced garlic, one minced jalapeno pepper and a finely chopped small carrot, then added to the rest of the recipe. Great flavor!

This is a great added difference on my menu
