Ice cream cones sure bring back fond memories of childhood. Remember your first banana split? Add this surprise treat, full of toppings but no ice cream, to your fun-to-eat, memory-making dessert list for the tastes you love to remember.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (8-ounce) container frozen light whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (8-1/4-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 banana, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup drained and chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1 (8-ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 8 ice cream cones

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the cones; mix well. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.

  2. When ready to serve, use an ice cream scoop to scoop the mixture into the cones. Serve immediately.

This is a tasty sounding recipe. What I really like is the idea that the bowl is edible and no clean up if you know what I mean.

I was thinking the filling for this snacking cone was really like ambrosia until I saw the addition of peanut butter. Now I did not see that coming. I like peanut butter but I can not see it mixed with all the other ingredients . So if nothing else, I will take away the idea of using the ice cream cones as a vessel for other items. Thanks for the recipe and the idea.
