Comment On This Article

This stew got its name because it was the food of choice taken by Polish hunters on hunting trips. For more authentic taste, substitute Polish sausage for the smoked sausage. Pair this stew with rye or pumpernickel bread and full-bodied beer for a one-dish meal that's sure to please the heartiest eater.
