Did you know that March is National Frozen Food Month? Well it is, and even though we are nearing the end of March, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate frozen food all year long. A lot of people have misconceptions about frozen foods, thinking it’s not real food, or not as good for you as real food, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Frozen foods start out the same as their fresh counterparts, coming from the earth and sea. It’s true!

You know you’ve been strolling through the freezer aisle in your grocery store, window shopping all of the frozen fruits and veggies wondering what you can make with everything. The great thing is, the possibilities are endless! There are so many recipes you can make with frozen foods that not only taste just as good as if you used fresh produce, but if you don’t use an entire bag of something, you can just reseal it, stick it back in your freezer and save it for next time. No food goes to waste this way! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought a bunch of fresh broccoli only to use half of it and have the other half go bad in a hurry in my fridge. What? I can’t eat broccoli EVERY night! Finally I learned my lesson and started buying it frozen, knowing I won’t use it all at once and now I don’t have to worry about it going bad in my freezer.

And speaking of your freezer, I bet you’ve already got a couple bags of frozen fruits and veggies, or even chicken in there and you’re just dying to think of a quick and easy way to use them. Luckily, we have some great recipes that utilize these real frozen foods that the whole family will enjoy, like our Sunrise Breakfast Pizza that also uses refrigerated pizza dough!

What came first? The chicken or the taco?

And of course, you can’t neglect your sweet tooth and we’ve got just the thing…Berry Cheesecake Ice Cream Squares. Yes, you read that right. It’s cheesecake, it’s ice cream, it’s everything delicious.

If you don’t already have the ingredients on hand, you can find most of them in the frozen and refrigerates aisles. Doesn’t get much easier than that! So grab a sweater, head to your supermarket and take a stroll down the cool aisles to grab everything you need to make some tasty recipes tonight!
