FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (February 11, 2009) — Mr. Food, host of the longest-running syndicated television food vignette, will be looking for the "top tater side dish" as part of the Amstel Light Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray, the sold-out kick-off event at this year's South Beach Wine and Food Festival.
The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, One Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, will be the setting for this friendly competition between top-ranked chefs on Thursday, February 19 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is sponsoring the Idaho Potato Side Dish Challenge, featuring side dishes from the "Burger Bash" chefs, and Mr. Food will be there to choose the best of the best.
Participating chefs include Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto, Katie Lee Joel and Rick Bayless. The winner of the Side Dish Challenge will have a $5,000 check donated to the Florida International University Culinary School in his or her name.
