AT THE VARIETY KIDS TELETHON 2009
MR. FOOD WILL ASK FANS TO "SHARE YOUR CARE"

PDF Version

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (February 3, 2009) — Mr. Food, America's beloved television food personality, will once again join the national cast of celebrities and shining stars asking the community to "Share Your Care" at the 47th Annual Variety Kids Telethon in Buffalo, New York. This locally produced 12-hour telethon, which is the longest-running telethon in the world, will air on Buffalo's WKBW-TV on February 22 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Each year, through their telethon, the Variety Club, The Children's Charity of Buffalo and Western New York, reaches out to the people of Western New York, Western Pennsylvania, and Southern Ontario to ask for help in their mission to serve the special needs of underprivileged children and those with serious medical needs in the region.

For 47 years, the telethon has been a great force behind several organizations in the area. Dollars raised from the telethon will benefit The Women's and Children's Hospital, The Robert Warner Rehabilitation Programs, and other Western New York children's charities. And with the continued assistance of loyal volunteers like Mr. Food, who has been a part of the event for the past 18 years, the Variety Club continues to receive tremendous community support.
