Leftover bread  Hurray for Day-Old Bread

“Don’t toss out that loaf of bread or those crusty rolls that are a bit too crusty. Turn them into something that your gang will ooh and aah over.

It’s guaranteed or my name isn’t Mr. Food!”

As long as your leftover bread is not fresh enough for anything else, but not yet rock hard, you can make the best of it by making any of these:

Potato Fresh Bread Crumbs: Simply put your day-old bread in a food processor with a grater blade and voila…you have the lightest, freshest-tasting bread crumbs you’ve ever eaten.
Potato Dry Bread Crumbs: Toast your day-old bread on a cookie sheet in a hot oven until golden. Place in a food processor with a grater blade. For seasoned bread crumbs, add some granulated garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; there’s nothing like homemade.
Potato Crunchy Croutons: Cut your bread into ½-inch chunks, toss with melted butter or olive oil, season, and bake in a 375-degree oven until crunchy throughout.
Potato Toasted Garlic Bread: Simply butter and sprinkle granulated garlic on top of the cut side of your day-old rolls or French or Italian bread, and broil until golden; you’ve got an explosive-tasting garlic bread.
Potato Baked French Toast: Toss cubes of day-old bread with an egg and half-and-half mixture, along with some sugar and cinnamon; bake it in a loaf pan, slice, and enjoy.
Potato Bread Pudding: It’s simply a baked mixture of day-old bread cubes, milk, eggs, sugar, and cinnamon. It’s a great use for old bread and rolls, especially breads that have raisins or nuts, so dig out your favorite recipe or use one of ours!
