Perfect hard-cooked eggs

 Perfect Hard-Cooked Eggs

Whether you’re making hard-cooked or hard-boiled eggs for the holidays or entertaining, or just because, you want them to come out just right. So if they are always undercooked or overcooked, and end up green like in the Dr. Seuss story, worry no more, these tips will sure come in handy all year long.

How to make the perfect hard-cooked eggs:
Place eggs in a large saucepan and add enough water to just cover them
Heat to a boil. When the water is boiling, remove pan from heat, cover, and let sit 20 minutes (23 minutes for extra large or jumbo eggs).
Drain the hot water and run cold water over the eggs, adding some ice cubes to the water to chill them quickly.
Let the eggs cool 5 to 10 minutes before peeling – which should be easy!

How to tell cooked eggs from raw ones:
Egg spinning
It can be a pretty messy problem when you mistake a raw egg for a hard-boiled one!

It’s really easy to tell cooked eggs from raw ones…just take them for a spin!
Place an egg on the counter and give it a gentle spin. If it spins easily and quickly, it’s hard-boiled; if it doesn’t…yup, it’s raw.
