FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (March 18, 2007) — Amidst the sea of four-leaf clovers, green clothing and the Chicago River dyed green, was Mr. Food. Caught in a tizzy of excitement for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, Mr. Food rode atop a float on the streets of Chicago. There were children eating green candies, adults sipping festively colored beer, and floats coated in brilliant shades of green. There were no leprechauns to be found, only merry residents of Chicago enjoying the break from the winter chill.
Returning for his 17th consecutive year, Mr. Food, America's beloved quick 'n' easy television food personality, rode on the WLS-TV float, together with fellow news anchors, to greet fans and revelers.
"Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day — especially in Chicago," exclaimed
Mr. Food. "Smiles are wider than ever, and the moment the Chicago River is dyed emerald green, the whole city catches the fever of the holiday. I wouldn't miss participating in this parade for anything!"
The annual St. Patrick's Day parade is sponsored by WLS-TV, and, continuing its 25-year tradition, the station broadcast the parade live from noon until 1:30 p.m.
