FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (June 4, 2007) — Surrounded by inventive barbecue dishes, live band performances, and a large food fair, Mr. Food appeared at
My Waterloo Days on May 31. This annual event in Cedar Valley, Iowa, features cook-offs, guest celebrity judges, and local fun.
Started in 1982, My Waterloo Days is a community-wide celebration which draws thousands of attendees to show their pride in the Waterloo community. With the help of numerous volunteers, barbecue competitions, and celebrity guests help make the festival a success.
At his recent appearance, fans packed Mr. Food's cooking demonstrations. "I see him on the news every day at noon (on KWWL)," grandmother Joan McCraney said. "His recipes are simple and easy to do." She even interrupted the nationally recognized TV personality, while he was explaining a recipe, to shout his famous tag line, "OOH IT'S SO GOOD!!®" along with the rest of the audience. After the presentation Mr. Food met his fans to pose for pictures and sign autographs.
And just like the friendly people around him, Mr. Food was caught up in the festive atmosphere of the event. "These people are lucky to live in such a great place," he said. "I'm happy to be here to share all the fun and the pride they show in their city."
