One great way to help raise awareness for a cause is to host a bake sale. Our Pink Ribbon Poke Cake was created for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and features the signature pink color that reminds us all of our fight against breast cancer.

What You'll Need:
  • 1 (16.25-ounce) package white cake mix
  • 1 cup plus 1 teaspoon strawberry dessert topping, divided
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
What To Do:
  1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions for a 9- x 13-inch baking dish. Bake according to package directions; let cool 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Using a straw or wooden spoon handle, poke holes randomly into cake. Slowly pour 1 cup strawberry topping into holes, using a spatula to spread excess. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add confectioners' sugar and remaining strawberry topping and beat until well mixed.
  4. Evenly spread frosting onto cake and serve, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
  • Decorate with candy pink breast cancer awareness ribbons, which you can find at your local craft store.

  • Here's another bake sale option, or just another way to say we care: Pink Ribbon Cookies.

Wouldn't strawberry pie topping work as well?

Hi there! The consistency of strawberry pie topping would not work well in this recipe because it is too thick. The chunky strawberry would not allow for the frosting to spread on top. Enjoy!

Should the topping be warmed up, or should it be at room temperature? Also, could you use fruit jam in place of the topping?

Hello! - The topping should be room temperature and we suggest spreading the jam on top of the cake. Enjoy!

I used Hershey's Strawberry Syrup and it make the cake mushy. I didn't use a whole cup because I saw it was making the cake too wet. Don't use the syrup if you make it!

Hello! - We're sorry to hear you cake came out mushy! We used a strawberry ice cream topping that comes in a plastic squirt bottle. The Hershey's strawberry syrup is intended for milk and is too thin to use in this recipe. We hope you'll give this recipe another try, and let us know how it turns out!

What is strawberry dessert topping? Is this jarred ice cream topping? Like a thin jam?

Hello! Yes, strawberry dessert topping is jarred ice cream topping or ice cream syrup. Enjoy!

Herb Roasted Bundt Pan Chicken

You don't need a fancy rotisserie to make the best roasted chicken - all you need is a Bundt pan! Our Herb Roasted Bundt Pan Chicken is so moist and flavorful, you'll wonder why you've never tried roasting your chicken like this before. (We just love how the chicken picks up the flavors from the herbs and wine in the pan!)
