What You'll Need

  • 1 (16-ounce) package elbow macaroni
  • 1 (10-3/4-ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted, divided

What size baking pan would you need to use?

what size sheet pan?

Everyone loved this, good for a whole family.

What are butter crackers? What brand did you use. Can't wait to try...Looks so good.

Hi there! You can use Club or Ritz crackers. Both brands have butter crackers. :)

Wow, what a hearty version of mac and cheese! I've never made macaroni and cheese with eggs, so I am anxious to try this. My family will love this dish, but I'm not sure we'll be able to finish it. I think I'll serve this with meatloaf and a side vegetable.

I agree - if you were to freeze it, the pasta would kind of break down and get a strange consistency too. You might be able to carefully freeze it before baking it, though, and just add the crushed crackers right before baking. Several of these would be an ideal side for a potluck or a funeral when serving many, since it is so easy to portion out and serve!

Will leftovers freeze well?

Hello! While this can be frozen, we don't think it would "freeze well" because freezing will dry out the mac and cheese a bit.

Pasta shells might also work well with this recipe.
