- 1/4 cup chopped sundried tomatoes in oil
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Wrap 4 asparagus spears with a slice of bacon, leaving both ends of the asparagus unwrapped (see Note); place on prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining asparagus and bacon; sprinkle bundles with pepper.

Bake 18 to 20 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.

Very good but will put foil on the tops to keep them from cooking too long

Should you heat the tomatoes and oil before coating asparagus?

Try using proscuitto ham instead of bacon...it's thinner and crisps up about the same time that the asparagus are cooked. Drizzle with a little garlic infused olive oil just before serving. Delicious and easy. You can also cook these a lower oven temp (350-375) using proscuitto which allows you to cook other things at the same time. Make these all the time; family loves them.

I have made these for years. I don't cook mine at 450 degrees but at 350 and use thin sliced bacon and thicker spears. Mine are also ways snaped up quick, never have enough .

I don't understand what I did wrong. By the time my bacon was crispy, my asparagus was limp and WAY overdone.
