Up until she left us, my grandmother would have a huge breakfast sitting on the table by the time we all (about 20 of us) arrived no later than 6am. Then we’d all sit around … us kids staring at the presents wondering which gifts were ours and what was in them…. we were Never allowed to touch the gifts. We would have Christmas dinner around 2pm and around 5pm or so we’d all gather around the tree where grandpa would play Santa Clause.
I so miss those days. Now we don’t usually have breakfast. Everyone grabs a danish or a muffin and we have Santa shortly after and then a big dinner in the afternoon.
There’s a lot to be said for tradition.

To ensure pancakes were on the menu last two years ago my son bought me a very big electric griddle and last year for the bacon a big electric frying pan. I would like to win these to give to his fiance for her bridal shower.
