Do you know why people wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? Some Internet sources say that it’s because people began wearing four leaf clovers to honor St. Patrick, and this eventually led to the wearing of green clothing. Other sources say that there’s a legend claiming green is invisible to leprechauns, so those who wear it won’t get pinched by these tricky creatures!
No matter what you believe it’s hard to deny that wearing green on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, is a tradition that many people like to be a part of. (I know I’ll be wearing green!) And, since I’m a girl who likes to take everything a step further, I thought, “Why not dress up our food in green too?”
This brilliant thought led me to put together a list of 17 “Green” Recipes that are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
Ireland, green, St. Patrick’s Day…all these things are associated with good luck, and the one symbol that represents this luck more than anything else is the shamrock. So, if your plate is going to be wearing green for the holiday, then it’s important that this symbol make its appearance.

While wearing green will definitely help to keep the leprechauns from pinching you, it never hurts to keep them busy by serving up some of their favorite treats either…

If you like to sip and slurp your dose of green, then you’ll love these green drinks. There’s no alcohol in these, which means that even the littlest leprechauns can enjoy them.

You can even enjoy a little green with dinner too…
