I have a couple of exciting things to share with you. The first is that today, I’m going to share with you an easy step-by-step on how to make a fabulous quality meal your family is actually going to eat and the second is that…we’ve got an awesome giveaway going on all month long! (There’s more on how to enter at the end of this blog.)
We’ve partnered with Easy Home Meals to let people know that the freezer and dairy aisles are full of tasty ideas and great savings to make quality meals for your family this fall. These aisles are home to some of our favorite shortcut ingredients – everything from fruits and veggies to pre-cooked, pre-cut chicken and beef. And the dairy aisle is where you’ll find some yummy favorites like eggs, cheese, milk, and even cookie dough!.
There are still some people who think only of “TV dinners” when they think of these aisles, and while I appreciate a great prepackaged dinner every now and then (Hello, frozen lasagna!) I wanted to show you how these aisles can inspire something homemade, easy, and delicious. So, let’s get on with it!
How to Make: Chicken and Broccoli Hotdish
Step One: Get your ingredients together. Most of what you’ll need you can find in the freezer and dairy aisles – sour cream, milk, shredded cheese, chicken breast strips, broccoli, shredded hash browns, and butter. You’ll also need a can of Cheddar cheese soup and a little salt and pepper.
Step Two: Mix together the soup, sour cream, milk, and shredded cheese.
Step Three: Coarsely chop up the chicken breast and add that, along with the broccoli, to your bowl. When it’s all combined, pour it into your baking dish.
Step Four: In another bowl, mix together the hash browns, butter, salt and pepper. Then, sprinkle it over the cheesy broccoli and chicken mixture.
When you’re done, you can bake it right away for 55 to 60 minutes, in an oven that’s been preheated to 375 degrees F, or you can cover it in plastic wrap and freeze it for another day – like I did!
Here’s what it’ll look like when you serve it:
I really should’ve taken a video of everyone enjoying this hotdish. The whole table was commenting on how creamy and cheesy it was (and there was not a single complaint about the broccoli!). I’m telling you, this is a good one to make for your family this fall!
So, I promised you another thing – a giveaway! All throughout the month of October, we’ll be giving away coupon packets for free and discounted products found in the freezer and dairy aisles like:
Along with one of these coupon packets, each winner will receive a fun cooler bag. We’ll be selecting three winners every Friday throughout the promotion period, for a total of 15 winners, so be sure to enter daily. This giveaway is now over! Keep checking back for more great giveaways!
