Barb Odierno

Administrative Assistant

“Whoever is happy will make others happy too.” – Ann Frank

I want to smile and have the world smile too. I don’t want to wait till the weekend to be happy. I say make the week your weekend!

Favorite Mr. Food recipe: Everything Chef Patty makes is my new favorite recipe.

How often do I cook? With the nest empty for some time now, I’ve learned to enjoy eating out a lot and trying new places. I maybe cook 3-4 times a week, maybe.

Who am I cooking for? When I do cook, it’s for my Husband or my oldest Son and his family (3 grand-kids) Or should I say my Guinea pigs?

How long have I been cooking? Well, I’ve been experimenting for about 38 years, but I haven’t quite mastered cooking yet. I think I’m close though.

My biggest challenge in the kitchen: The clean-up! I don’t think I’ve ever cooked a meal and cleaned up too. I have an assistant for that. Yep, you guessed, Mr. Odierno.

What profession best describes me in the kitchen? The dabbler! I like to put my hands in everything and throw it together for new tastes and treats.

The kitchen appliance I couldn’t live without: My microwave. I just think it’s the greatest invention, from my oatmeal in the morning to my pop-corn at night.

My ultimate meal: Thanksgiving Dinner. I try not to eat turkey any other time of the year, so when it comes around, I’m ready! (Although, I will sneak in a turkey burger.)

The one food I can’t stand: That’s a tough one as there’s not much I won’t eat. Everything from liver to oysters to escargot to octopus, love it all.

The food that instantly takes me back to childhood is: Fluffernutter sandwiches.

If I were a spice, I would be: Garlic, love it on everything!

My favorite food that grows from the earth is: Spinach. Cooked or uncooked, love it the same.

If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, it would be: Julia Child, an American chef. Not only would I be stuffed to the gills as I like to say, but entertained as well.

Sweet tooth, or salt-craver? What’s my weakness? Definitely a salt-craver, whether it’s my popcorn or Frito’s, if its’ salty, I know I’d like it.
