“My kitchen, my rules.” — Yours Truly
Favorite Mr. Food recipe: I have so many, but my favorite this week is Pierogi Lasagna.
How often do I cook? All day, every day!
Who am I cooking for? The Mr. Food fans and my number one fan — my husband, Howard.
How long have I been cooking? I don’t wanna give my age, but over thirty years professionally.
My biggest challenge in the kitchen: When I put time into developing a recipe and even if I try it three or four times, it just won’t work out the way I want it to.
What profession best describes me in the kitchen? The mad scientist! My kitchen is quirky and fun and I get to experiment a lot with ingredients and new tastes.
The kitchen appliance I couldn’t live without: A good sharp knife – if I don’t have a sharp knife in the kitchen, I’d cut my finger off!
My ultimate meal: A big juicy steak with a loaded baked potato and a crisp salad.
The one food I can’t stand: “Fishy” fish – I can’t stand the smell of salmon.
The food that instantly takes me back to childhood is: Mashed potatoes! When I was growing up, we had mashed potatoes almost every night because my uncle got potatoes straight from his farm. When I was old enough, I became the designated mashed potato maker in my house!
If I were a spice, I would be: I’d have to go with salt because I help people improve their everyday cooking – I enhance the traditional and bring out their creative flair!
My favorite food that grows from the earth is: Potatoes, because I grew up with them.
If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, it would be: Elvis Presley because he was such an icon that I watched as I grew up and I always knew what his favorite sandwich is peanut butter and banana. And who wouldn’t want to gaze into those baby blue eyes?
Sweet tooth, or salt-craver? What’s my weakness? I’m a sweet tooth – got the cavities to prove it! I’ve loved sweets ever since I was a little girl. Sweetness is the finishing touch to a great meal.
