SERVES
12 to 14

Cream cheese has always been a trusted partner in crime to bagels everywhere, but have you ever thought about making it into a spread? Adding different spices and a few extra ingredients to traditional cream cheese makes for a quick 'n' easy appetizer that is sure to please all taste buds!

What You'll Need

  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounce (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoon warm water
  • 2 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dillweed
  • Paprika or parsley for garnish, optional

What to Do

  1. Combine cream cheese, butter, water, minced onion, salt and dillweed; mix well.
  2. Place in a serving bowl and serve with crackers, cocktail bread or bread chunks. If you prefer a "fancy" spread, put a piece of plastic wrap in the bowl and then press the cream cheese mixture into the bowl.
  3. Refrigerate until it firms up then pop it onto a serving tray for a perfect mold. Sprinkle with paprika or chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Try alternating between dillweed, basil, oregano and chili powder for different taste treats, depending on your mood!
