If you look over this recipe quickly you might ask, "Why make two brie rounds?" Easy - if you make just one you're likely to miss out 'cause it's so rich and creamy that it won't last long.

What You'll Need

  • 2 (8-ounce) brie cheese rounds
  • 1 (17-1/4 ounces) package frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a large rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. Place one brie round in center of each sheet of puff pastry and bring ends up to center, completely covering brie; pinch dough firmly to seal. Trim and discard any excess dough and place seam side down on baking sheet.

  3. Brush tops of puff pastry equally with beaten egg and sprinkle with hazelnuts.

  4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until pastry is golden and brie is melted. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

It adds a nice touch to serve this with baguette chips that you make by thinly slicing a long thin baguette (French bread) and toasting until golden.
