Light Apricot Wings are an easy party hors d'oeuvre. Who doesn't love wings that are glazed and crispy? Mmm mmm!

What You'll Need

  • 3 pound (about 12 to 15) chicken wings
  • 1 (17-ounce) can apricot halves, drained
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional (see Notes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, optional

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  2. Split wings at each joint and discard tips; rinse, then pat dry.

  3. Combine remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor; blend until smooth.

  4. Place chicken wings in a single layer on a rack in a shallow baking pan; brush with apricot sauce.

  5. Bake about 30 minutes, until wings are brown and crisp, basting with sauce after 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Liquid smoke is usually found in the condiment section of the supermarket.

  • To give the wings a crispy glaze, put them under the broiler for a couple minutes after baking.
