COOK TIME

Indian cooking of yesterday certainly has made its way into our hearts and bellies today...and it's sure a lot easier now, too!

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • 2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (12 ounce) package wonton skins (26 to 30 pieces)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Cooking spray

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

  2. Soak raisins in warm water 10 minutes, then drain.

  3. Meanwhile, in a medium-sized skillet, saute beef and onion until browned. Drain off fat, then add drained raisins, curry, cumin, garlic, salt and pepper; mix well.

  4. Moisten edges of each wonton skin with beaten egg, then spoon 1 teaspoon of beef mixture into center of each skin. Fold each skin in half to form a triangle and seal edges.

  5. Place samosas onto prepared cookie sheet and spray each one, evenly with cooking spray.

  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until bottoms are golden and crisp.

Notes

You can make these a day ahead of time and reheat them on a cookie sheet in a 300 degrees F. oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until hot.
