Living in South Florida, one of the freshest flavors has to be oranges picked right from the tree. I wanted people to be able to enjoy that fresh goodness? even if they didn't have any orange trees outside! It's a taste that's good enough for the fanciest company.

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried ground thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (2- to 2½-pound) top round steak, cut 1½ inches thick

What to Do

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine all the ingredients except the steak; mix well.

  2. Place the steak in a 9" x 13" baking dish. Pour the sauce over the steak and turn the steak 2 or 3 times to coat well. Place under a preheated broiler for 7 to 8 minutes per side for medium rare, or until desired doneness. Cut thin slices across the grain to serve.

Notes

The best way to test these for doneness is to use a meat thermometer. It should register 140 degree F for rare, 160 degree F for medium, and 170 degree F to 180 degree F for well done. Serve with the pan sauce on the side.
