Ranch Beef 'n' Beans

This is a regular on dinner tables in the Midwest. How 'bout enjoying the goodness of that down-home cooking?

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion (about of a large onion)
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can butter beans, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped or diced mild green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 2/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

What to Do

  1. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat until cooked through, stirring occasionally and crumbling with a fork; drain.
     
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
     
  3. Bring to a boil, then immediately reduce heat and simmer 20 to 25 minutes to blend flavors, stirring occasionally.
