MAKES

COOK TIME
50 Min

These are a cross between a cracker and a cookie, so maybe you should make a double batch. After all, it's no more work, and it'll save you from starting all over after they eat up the first batch right away!

What You'll Need

  • 2 cup (8 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 48 pecan halves

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. In large bowl, combine cheese, flour, butter, and cayenne pepper until well mixed.

  2. Form into a 12-inch smooth log about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap log in waxed paper and freeze 1 hour, or until thoroughly chilled. Remove waxed paper and cut into 1/4-inch slices. Press 1 pecan half onto top of each slice.

  3. Place on baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray and bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until edges are golden and they easily release from pan.
