They're appetizers - no, no, they're dinner "go-alongs"...Well, it doesn't matter what you call them, 'cause they're ready to eat in just minutes, and the grill gives them a nice smoky taste that'll keep the gang coming back for more!

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 loaf (1 pound) French or Italian bread, cut in half lengthwise

What to Do

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.

  2. Place the melted butter in a small bowl. Stir in the garlic powder and salt. Brush the mixture over the cut sides of the bread, then grill the bread, cut sides down, for 5 to 7 minutes with the grill cover closed, until the bread is crispy and golden.

  3. Remove from the heat and cut diagonally into 1-inch slices.

Notes

Why not cut the bread into larger pieces and use it instead of buns for your favorite hamburgers? Yummy!
