Country-Style Ribs with Zesty BBQ Sauce

Get ready for lots of lip smackin' goodness! These country-style pork ribs are covered in a homemade bbq sauce that features a delicious secret ingredient (it adds a little zing!). What You'll Need

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 1/2 to 4 pounds country-style pork ribs
  • 2 cup ketchup
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoon horseradish (see Notes)
  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 strips bacon, crispy cooked and crumbled

What to Do

  1. In a Dutch oven or soup pot over medium-high heat, heat oil until hot; brown ribs on all sides 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk ketchup, water, horseradish, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, brown sugar, and bacon until combined.
  3. Pour sauce over ribs, cover, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 50 to 55 minutes or until fork-tender.

Notes

  • If you want a little smoky flavor, finish these off on the grill.
